Charles Fillmore, in his book Prosperity,
emphasizes the importance of unwavering faith in God as the ever-present source
of substance. He teaches that prosperity is not merely about material wealth
but about aligning one’s mind with divine abundance. When individuals first
attempt to shift their thinking toward seeing God as the ever-present substance
that sustains all, they often struggle to maintain that belief consistently.
This is because years of conditioned scarcity thinking create doubt, which can
momentarily break their spiritual momentum. Fillmore encourages persistence in
holding onto the idea that divine substance is always available, even when
outer circumstances appear challenging.
He highlights a common
pitfall: allowing fear and lack-based thinking to creep back into
consciousness. When people suddenly doubt their sufficiency—thinking, "I
haven't enough to meet all our bills"—they essentially disconnect from the
flow of divine provision. This lapse in faith acts as a disruption, slowing
down the manifestation process. Fillmore teaches that spiritual manifestation
requires continuous and unwavering belief. If one falters, they must
immediately "patch it up" by reaffirming the truth that God is the
source of infinite supply. This discipline of the mind is crucial in developing
a prosperous consciousness.
To successfully manifest
prosperity, Fillmore advises replacing doubt with steadfast spiritual
conviction. The key is to train the mind to remain anchored in divine
abundance, regardless of external conditions. This requires daily affirmations,
prayer, and a refusal to entertain thoughts of lack. Just as a break in
momentum slows down a moving object, a lapse in faith slows down prosperity’s
unfolding. However, by quickly correcting these mental breaks and realigning
with the truth of God’s abundant presence, individuals can restore their
progress and experience the fullness of divine provision in their lives.
As we replace the word God, with Good,
we have a greater chance of demonstrating the financial prosperity we desire.
And consider following this: And so, we begin our work with one of the
fundamentals ... "give and be given to." And why do we start
with this? ... it is because we are conditioning our mind to accept that
"we have" ... a "have not" consciousness cannot demonstrate
more ... and is most likely to demonstrate "loss" ... and each one of
us can begin to do this immediately. So, we begin by always giving more
... going the "extra mile" so to speak in consciousness. This
can be as simple as rounding up our payment to the utility companies to tip
more than the typical 15% ... for example, if our electric bill is
$144.00 ... write the check for $150.00 ... or $145.00 if you're not sold on
this yet ... calculate your tip at 15% and then "deliberately" add $5
or $10 dollars more ... recognizing all the while that you are working with a
principle. Use every opportunity to demonstrate your consciousness of
abundance. These simple steps "condition" our mind to always
think "more" ... and in thinking more ... more will come to us.
And don't limit this to money ... give more of everything when the opportunity
is available to you ... purposefully go beyond what is expected ... and give
more or do more ... always. Create a "mental atmosphere" of
abundance ... of "having" ... don't go into debt to do it ... but do
it with wisdom and purpose.
Keep the faith!
